Topic brief: Corporates that endorse innovation have focused their attention towards creating an entrepreneurial environment in which projects are nurtured from the inside or attracted from the outside. Methods inspired by Ideo’s User Design Thinking or Adobe’s Kickbox are often used as tools to help these projects, while the “Lean Start-up” philosophy typically walks throughout the entire process.

However, despite useful attempts and intensive corporate window dressing, the end results can stay below expectations. There are many reasons for that, for example: inappropriate methods of acceleration, lack of entrepreneurial mind-sets or insufficient legitimacy within the business unit.

The objective of this talk is to discuss how to use scientific insights and apply lean start-up philosophy to foster innovation culture within businesses. We will cover how to bridge the gap between cognitive management tools and entrepreneurial action with representatives from the telecoms and aviation industries.
