Our Teaching Philosophy

At the Chair of Entrepreneurship we are committed to design and deliver innovative educational programs that combine useful theory with practical experience. Our teaching is aimed at self-motivated and aspirational students that want to explore entrepreneurial career opportunities. To enrich the learning experience, we build on real-life cases, interactive teaching and regular talks from members of the start-up community.

Our classes…

...provide students with a comprehensive perspective on how to manage entrepreneurial ventures and create value from technological inventions.

...teach students how to identify and develop aspirational entrepreneurial opportunities and gather the resources necessary to initiate and grow such ventures.

...prepare students for careers as independent entrepreneur but also as key employees in start-ups, corporations (intrapreneurs) and the start-up community.

Our courses differ in what they focus on. Some courses are more knowledge-building-oriented, allowing students to obtain a general overview of entrepreneurial management whereas other courses focus more on implementation skills. We recommend that, before enrolling in one of our do-it focused programs, students have at least taken one of the more foundational Entrepreneurship courses.

In general, our courses target the entire student population (incl. PhD students) across the ETH campus.
