High-Tech Startup Bootcamp

During the first 10 days of March the Chair for Entrepreneurship, together with the Chair of Entrepreneurship from St. Gallen University and the Kickbox team from Swisscom’s Pirates Hub, organized this year’s installment of the High-Tech Start-up Management course.

Inspired by great guest speakers and the opportunity to work at a fantastic co-working space at ETHZ’s Student Project House, 7 student teams took off to explore start-up land. Each team was composed of ETHZ and HSG students, who received individual coaching and one of Swisscom’s Kickboxes with seed money of CHF 1,000 in order to prototype and test their technology business idea. The unique set-up of this course assured that our students moved way beyond a classroom exercise and ventured out into the real world!

The final presentations revealed how far motivated students can go in only one week. We were excited about the progress and are looking forward to seeing some of the projects continue or otherwise meeting some of our students in other entrepreneurial ventures in the future.
