Dr. Giacomo Cattaneo

Dr. Giacomo Cattaneo obtained his PhD in 2017 from Aarhus University. He worked on a joint research project between ETH Zurich, Aarhus University, Babson College & Bang&Olufsen. Giacomo also holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering and a MSc in Management, Technology and Economics from ETH Zurich, with focus on Technology Intelligence and Innovation Management. 

Giacomo's research focused on how innovation triggers strategic renewal through the exploration of new competences and identities. Specifically he studied how such a process can support the adoption of circular business models. In parallel to his doctoral studies, Giacomo worked also on the project team of Venture, the largest Business Plan competition of Switzerland, co-sponsored by ETH Zurich, the Swiss innovation promotion agency CTI and McKinsey & Company.

Dr. Onur Saglam

Onur Saglam obtained his Dr. Sc. in 2016. He also holds a Masters degree from ETH Zurich. During his master study, Onur specialized on "Integrating Clients in Professional Services Innovation". Onur's PhD research focused on "Corporate Entrepreneurship & Innovation" and "Entrepreneurial Activities within Organizations".

In parallel to his doctoral studies, Onur has been working for the Venture business plan competition, which is an initiative by ETH Zurich, the innovation promotion agency CTI and McKinsey & Company, Switzerland.

Dr. Ecaterina Puricel

Ecaterina Puricel graduated in 2016 with a Dr. Sc. from ETHZ. Her research focuses on corporate entrepreneurship and innovation in incumbent firms. In spring 2015 she was a visiting scholar at Cass Business School in London, UK.

From 2008 to February 2013, Ecaterina worked in various positions with ABB Switzerland Ltd and Asea Brown Boveri S.A., Barcelona, Spain. Ecaterina holds a bachelor degree in Materials Science and a master degree in Management, Technology, and Economics, both from ETH Zurich.

Dr. Efe Aksüyek

Efe Aksüyek obtained his PhD in 2014 from the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics, ETH Zurich. In parallel to his doctoral studies, Efe worked for the business plan competition external pageVenture, the longest-standing Business Plan competition in Switzerland.

Efe holds bachelor and masters degrees from the ETH Zurich in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, with a focus on communications, signal processing and information theory. Currently, Efe is a technology consultant and entrepreneur.

Dr. Boris Battistini

Until 2016, Dr. Boris Battistini worked as a senior researcher at the Department of Management, Technology, and Economics (D-MTEC) at ETH Zurich.

Currently he is Partner at external pageMetellus AG, a venture capital firm based in Zurich, London and San Diego, specializing in early-stage investments in technology and life sciences. He was a project leader of the Corporate Venturing Research Initiative with external pageBain & Company and a Visiting Research Fellow at external pageCass Business School. His research focuses on innovation, strategic investments and venture capital. He is a graduate of external pageKing's College London and holds an M.Sc. and an M.Res. in Management from the external pageUniversity of London and a Ph.D. from ETH Zurich.

Dr. Maria Wallnöfer

Maria Wallnöfer obtained her PhD degree in April 2012 from ETHZ. In her research Maria focused on business models of early-stage new ventures.

Besides her research, she was working in the project team for Venture - the longest-standing business plan competition in Switzerland, which is co-funded by ETH Zurich, McKinsey & Company, and the Swiss Innovation Promotion Agency (CTI). Maria's research is published in peer-reviewed journals such as Management Decision and the International Journal of Management Reviews.

After graduating, Maria brought her expertise to practice. Until Spring 2018, Maria worked for Swarovski, where she held different positions, notably as Planning and Insight Manager at Swarovski Professional - the business-to-business arm of the Swarovski Crystal Business -- and last Senior Manager in Strategic Marketing.

As of March 2018, Maria joined MCI Management Center Innsbruck, The Entrepreneurial School, as senior lecturer. In that position Maria supports the Executive Education team in program development and teaches in the Bachelors program Industrial Engineering and Management.

Dr. David Klang

David Klang obtained his doctoral degree from ETH Zurich in 2012. David also holds a Master of Science degree from ETHZ, in material science with focus on bioengineering, nanotechnology and business economics.

David's research interest centered on new business development in incumbent firms and new ventures, in particular from knowledge-based perspective and leadership theory. David's research is published in peer-reviewed journals such as Journal of Business Research and the International Journal of Product Development.

Since, David has worked as sales manager for the ETH spin-off greenTEG AG and is currently Business Development Manager at Roche Diagnostics International Ltd.
